Call of Duty: WWII fans have a lot to look forward to now that Activision and Sledgehammer have decided to break the vicious cycle of futuristic games involving FPS. For those who decide to grab the game on PS4, you’ll will receive the special theme for the console upon pre-ordering the game from the Sony PlayStation Store. Nothing has been confirmed for Xbox One so far, but we’re sure there will be something unique right around the corner soon enough.
Single Player Campaign:
As far as single player campaign, in Call of Duty: WWII, players will play as 19-year-old Ronald “Red” Daniels, from Texas. Red is a regular grunt fresh from boot camp who travelled to Europe and ended up on the front line, fighting alongside his squad mates. During the period of WWII, a lot of young soldiers had similar instances happen when they trained and fought to keep the Axis powers from reaching our allies shores.
According to unconfirmed sources, players who stay behind cover for long periods of time will not auto-regenerate health like past CoD games. Instead, you will have to ask a medic to help you in the game.
Increasing the difficulty, inside of the Call of Duty: World War II campaign you can’t just pick up ammo as you’re moving around anymore. you’ll have to ask squadmates to throw you a new magazine for the weapon you’re wielding. This means you can literally go a few moments with an empty clip, and only having melee, or just your knife to kill enemies.
Lastly, it’s been said that you’ll have special Squad Members who will have unique abilities such as, a Grenadier, an Explosives expert, or a Machine gun expert, and so on. You can also lose these members of your team throughout the mission, increasing the need for accuracy, defense and attention to detail in the environment. This can adversely effect you character as the story and action moves forward.
Call of Duty WW2 will feature a brand new Nazi Zombie’s mode which will feature a ‘unique take’ on the popular Call of Duty staple. Concerning this new mode Activision has only stated the following:
“The definitive World War II next generation experience also introduces Nazi Zombies, an all-new cooperative mode featuring a unique standalone storyline set during World War II that’s full of unexpected, adrenaline-pumping action”
When asked on the live stream when fans can expect an update, the Sledgehammer team were pretty quiet and only shared the image you see above. Obviously this means, we’ll have to wait until E3 later this year to hear about more.
• War: This narrative-driven mode brings a gripping new layer of excitement to Axis vs. Allies team play.
• Divisions: A new approach to Create-a-Class and character customization as you enlist in a division and progress through the ranks.
• Headquarters: A brand-new, social feature for Call of Duty, where you rally and interact with your fellow soldiers.
As far as Headquarters is concerned, here’s a first look at what it could entail. Keep in mind, all of these things are still under heavy development and fine tuning by Activision, so they could still be subject to change. According to Charlie Intel on Twitter: This is what it could look like:
